About the Artist
Trudy Totty’s work is an act of listening — to the land, to memory, and to what wants to be made. At the Edge of Wild marks her return to a creative impulse that’s been with her since childhood, translating what’s felt into form.
Her paintings emerge from conversation with big nature — the light, the oaks, the unseen forces that move through the land.
Created in conversation with Cascade Canyon, a living container and collaborator, these paintings explore what it means to let art emerge through us rather than from us. Totty’s practice bridges the modern and the archetypal, light and shadow, humanity and nature — inviting viewers to slow down and sense the pulse of the living world beneath the surface.
